Jewel the Faun

Jewel has been with me for eons as well but it has only been since Beltane 2015 that she has made herself known to me. I am still not completely sure why she waited so long, but the Nature Spirits can be very evasive and mysterious when they want to be.
The funny thing about Jewel is when I first met her, I asked who she was and I got the word "Fawn". I thought how fitting because she looked like a beautiful young girl that was part deer. She would shift to a fawn and sit on my lap when I visited the Faery Realm then she could turn back into the cute little hybrid girl deer.
One day I was doing some reading on elementals and Nature Spirits and I came upon this website about the different types of Earth Spirits and I discovered the faun.
In mythology a faun is a Roman creature similar to the Greek satyr. Fauns and satyrs are both combination creatures having the torso of a human and lower half of a goat. Fauns are generally more youthful and innocent while Satyrs are fiercer and more sexual.
Although in all the stories fauns are male and half goat, Jewel is female and a deer. She is a faun. Nature Spirits really dislike how humans write things in books, think certain thoughts then call them facts.. They can't understand why we are so stuck on words like "facts" and "beliefs"
After I learned Jewel put the word faun in my ear, not because it was her name, I asked what her name was. At first she would only giggle. Then one day she said "If you keep insisting on having a name for me then you may call me Jewel.
My relationship with Jewel is constantly evolving and I am still figuring out our role together. But I can say specifically she is the one that will tell me to stop working and go eat or she tells me I'm thirsty. She wants me to play more and not be so serious. She is just pure joy.
